Natalie :: Boudoir

Can you say "smoking' hot?" I feel so lucky to be able to photograph beautiful girls and showcase them in way they are not used to seeing themselves! I met Natalie thru one of my brides, Courtney. The two of them did their boudoir shoot at the same time. I'm actually a big fan of two girls sharing a session. It saves them a bit of moolah on the hotel room, and it tends to be a bit more comforting to have a friend nearby when you're posing in your unmentionables in front of strangers! Stay tuned...Courtney is up next!

Knowlton Family :: Mini-Shoot

I met Alisha at this adorable baby shower for a mutual friend, so I was thrilled when she contacted me to do a quick family shoot for their Christmas card! She and her husband Damion have an amazing home in Long Beach, not to mention their beautiful baby Avie Lynn! She is an 8-month old charmer, what a happy baby!

Courtney & Greg :: Engagement

It's been a romance in the works for a long time. These two have known each other for years, we're talking all the way back....before they ever had an inkling that one day they'd be each other's soulmates....funny how the universe works! I was thrilled to finally meet Courtney & Greg for their engagement shoot in downtown Orange. We lucked out with beautiful weather, after the threat of rain all week...thankfully we didn't need our contingency plan! I already know Courtney is my kind of bride. She is on top of the wedding plans and cares about the details! Can't wait for their March wedding at the Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach!

Baby Shower :: Napton Twins

BEST. BABY. SHOWER. EVAHHHH!! Melissa and Adam are definitely loved, as are their yet-to-arrive twins, a boy, Chase, and a girl, Kara! Without divulging too many details, these 2 little ones are a long time in the making....and already a dream come true for their Mommy and Daddy! Auntie Sarah and Grandma Laura really threw their hearts and souls into this simply charming shower! No detail was left out. Melissa's sister-in-law Bonnie provided some cute games, and Adam's mom and friend Christa baked some tasty sweet treats! Melissa had a wonderful afternoon surrounded by loving friends and family! It was truly my honor to be able to provide photography for such a deserving couple!

It's been a long time in the making, and more to come later, but here's just a quick sneak peek of the wonderfulness that Melissa's sister Sarah and her mom Laura created, along with help from sister-in-law Bonnie and friend Christa!!

Greer & Eli :: Couple's Shoot

Wow! Long time no post, huh! It's been an amazingly busy summer and only slightly less busy fall for me. I've been doing a ton of second shooting this season, and will post about that soon, as our season is about to come to an end! Speaking of which...I know I shouldn't complain, but this crazy warm SOCAL weather is killin' me! I'm ready for some cooler fall temps, but definitely don't envy our friends in Boston...they were already buried by the first storm of the season!

Anywhoo! Last nite my friend Greer (see her smoking' hot boudoir shots here) and her boyfriend Eli celebrated a special anniversary with a little photoshoot! Everybody deserves to have wonderful pics of themselves, engaged, married or not! Thanks for asking me to shoot these, and I'll be watching my mailbox for a holiday card featuring a picture or two from this shoot!

Happy Friday!! It's been a crazy 6 weeks or so, I hope everyone's summer is off to a fantastic start...hard to believe it's already mid-July!! And in exactly one month from today, I will be celebrating my BIG 4-0 birthday!! Hard to believe my mom has a 40-yr old child! But, in true Jackie style, I still put in my age as 39 on the elliptical machine at the gym! Not changing it until AFTER the official day!

So first things first....the blog looks different, huh? I basically just reversed the colors, and changed the font and logo slightly, not a huge difference, but I like the clean fresh look! Much thanks to Alex at Design & Illustration by Alex!

Kate & Kyle :: Wedding

Who says social media is just for looking up old high school friends and playing Mafia Wars or Farmville? It was thru Facebook that I connected with Christine Bentley, probably 3 years ago or so, 2008, when I got my first camera and started following my own wedding photographer on Facebook. Christine was one of her friends, so I friended her too. I was just starting out, and was astonished to find one day that a REAL professional had commented on my blog! That pro was of course Christine!

Fast forward to 2011, Christine put out a call for a 2nd shooter, and I quickly responded. I mean, it had to be fate, right? Me, possibly getting a chance to work with the first pro to comment on my work?! Well, we met, reviewed my work, and a few days later, Christine called to say that she’d chosen me!! OMG! Since then I have shot 2 weddings with her, and have many more on the calendar in the coming months. She is truly amazing, and I learn something every time we shoot together, whether it be just from observing or actual tips she gives me. She also treated me to a spot in Roberto Valenzuela’s workshop in L.A., which was super fun and educational as well!

I feel honored to have this amazing opportunity, and I know when my time comes, I will be paying it forward in a similar manner! I will be posting many more pics from my 2nd shooting adventures with Christine this wedding season, so stay tuned!

Now for the goods…as every post is better with pictures! This is from the first wedding I shot with Christine, at Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells. It was blazing hot, and my poor pinky toes paid the price with a total of 3 blisters, but here are a few images from Kate and Kyle’s big day!

Rachel G :: Boudoir

I met Rachel thru a mutual friend and make-up artist, Tiffany Georskey of Make Up Your Event. Rachel was vacationing here from Idaho with her long-time boyfriend, so we took advantage of her hotel for the shoot. Funny how you can hardly tell this was a "family-oriented" hotel in the Disney area! The pictures were supposed to be a surprise for Shane, but he found out! He was a good sport thou, and made himself scarce during the shoot, so the pictures will still be somewhat of a surprise for him! Hope he loves them!
