Welcome!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am Jackie Guidi, a journalistic wedding and lifestyle photographer, based in Northern California. My passion is capturing emotions through fresh, fun imagery, and I love it when people see themselves in a new light through my lens!
Here you'll see all of the fabulous people who've allowed me to do what I love, and occasionally, catch a glimpse into my life with Andrew, our amazing daughter Giuliana, and of course our two furry babies, Sophie and Jack!

The beginning of every love story has 2 sides...this one actually has 3! Hers, his, and mine! So when Mike, a lifelong friend of Andrew's, told us he kept running into a girl walking her dog (see below, Bubba, the cute Frenchie!) while out walking his dog, I immediately jumped into match-maker mode! They had already exchanged numbers, but I suggested perhaps the gesture of bringing a steaming thermos of hot cocoa to enjoy on their morning dog walk might be just the ticket to asking her on that first date...and here we are...now merely a few months away from their wedding!! But, let's here what THEY have to say in their own words:
On how they met:
She says: We met on a run of the mill dog walk early one morning when I had quite literally just rolled out of bed. I was wearing my PJ Pants and a tee-shirt along with a fabulous display of bed head. In true bully fashion, Bubba Jack ran right up to Duke and tried to establish his dominance from a good 12-inches below Duke's eye level. After a round of apologies and untangling of leashes, Mike caught me off guard with a request for my digits. Turns out it was a good day to take a chance on a cute stranger. ;)
He says: We lived down the street from each other and walked the same 6:30 am dog walk route. Usually neither of us were dressed to impress and often under caffeinated. After her 22 lb. dog tried to boss my 70 lb dog around AGAIN, we struck up a conversation and I asked for her number.
On "the one:"
She says: The sassy answer is... When he told me that he played hockey. ;) The honest answer is... I don't remember any big light bulb or "aha" moments. It just sort of occurred to me one day as we were lounging around that he was more than just good company.
He says: Sorta knew when we started talking on the phone. Before she knew I played hockey, she said "I don't really watch sports, except hockey.". Then, when I picked her up at her place on our first date and she had The Cure's "Desegregation" album on 12 vinyl laying on the coffee table, I had a hunch she was "the one".
The Proposal:
She says: On Christmas morning we started to unwrap our gifts and after receiving a toaster, coffee maker and Snuggie I had come to terms with having a utilitarian holiday experience. In the spirit of celebration, I decided to use my gifts and wrapped up in my cloud print Snuggie for a little couch lounging. After a quick departure from the room, I was informed that there was one more gift. I inspected under the tree with some confusion as there were no boxes remaining. When I settled back on the couch he started acting a little odd and then reached behind his back... About that time my brain sort of turned into white noise and internal dialog of "what is he doing"... "is that a ring...". I have no real memory of what was said, but distinctly recall that he was sheet white and very nervous.
He says: Santa brought the jewelery, he left it to me to pop the question.
We can't wait for your October wedding aboard the Sacramento Hornblower!
Meet Baby E.J.! (or Eric Jamison, as he's more formally known!) E.J. got the honor of being the subject of my first newborn shoot! I have always heard what hard work these shoots are, and this one proved to be no exception! I was hot and sweaty, and more tired than the baby by the time it was all over! E.J. ended up doing great, once mom Jamie got him "good and drunk" on milk!! These were taken when he was just 14 days old, and he's already a little over a month old now! Oh, how the time flies! Pretty soon he will be asking dad Eric for the car keys!
Andrew,
you are the
peanut to my butter
twinkle in my eye
shake to my bake
blue in my sky
sprinkles on my sundae
flip to my flop
bumble to my bee
jewel on my crown
milk to my shake
spring in my step
beat of my heart
love of my life
Happy Anniversary to my husband...I couldn't imagine living the rest of my life without you by my side! Your kindness, love, and support never ceases to amaze me. I love you more than words could ever express! *engagement image by Diana Kay Photography
Happy First Birthday to Miss Avie Lynn!! After months of planning, and dodging a few raindrops, the party went off without a hitch! And let me just say, no detail was forgotten! Avie's mom Alisha planned her little girl's first birthday party for months, and the results were spectacular! This party had it all! Amazing rainbow decor, a bounce castle, a balloon artist, TK Burger Truck, Miss Suzy singing songs (she even brought her parachute!) and all the love a little princess could ever want! Cheers to you Avie, but I have to say, I don't know if your 2nd birthday could ever compare to this one!

What can I say about these two?! They are two of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet, let alone photograph! These lovebirds are high-school sweethearts, even thou they went to separate high schools, her at St. Josephs and him at St. John Bosco. It all began when he asked her to be his girlfriend at the end of their junior year! Could that be any cuter?! Ah, remember young love?? Matt finally popped the question during a Vegas trip, 2 days after Theresa's birthday in 2010.
I'm trying a little something different...I'm asking couples to put into their own words how their relationship began, what made them fall in love, and a special story the two of them share! And, I have to say, I was thrilled this morning when I read their comments this morning in my email!
She says: I knew Matt was the one for me when I figured out how much he truly cared for me as a person. I fell in love with his big, generous heart and the way he always made me smile. He was always there for me and would travel the distance to see me and watch me play my favorite sport, soccer, on a weekly basis. He was able to bring out the best in me and able to make me a better person.
He says: Theresa was always able to put a smile on my face whenever I saw her and thought about her. She believed in me and was able to treat me in a special way that no one had before. She was always supportive and encouraging and always had the right words to say. She was able to bring out the adventurous side of me allowing me to do the things that I probably would have never done if she wasn't there.
Theresa's favorite story: One of our favorite stories was when we went to Hawaii and went sky diving. I, Theresa, had to talk Matt into it. The only reason why he went was because he said he didn't want to "look like a sissy". I thought that it was romantic as we got to experience our first jump together.
Matt's favorite story: When we had gone white water rafting for about our 3rd trip and Theresa was tell everyone in our raft how no one has ever fallen out. Just as she had finished the story we hit a small rock in the river (we had just started our day on the river) and she falls in the rapids. We just love being outdoors and being adventurous.
Since Matt is an avid golfer, they choose Old Ranch County Club in Seal Beach as the location for their engagement pictures. Their reception will be there in June as well, and I can't wait to shoot them again on their big day!

Can you say "smokin' hot?" I feel so lucky to be able to photograph beautiful girls and showcase them in a way they are not used to seeing themselves! I met Natalie thru one of my brides, Courtney. The two of them did their boudoir shoot at the same time. I'm actually a big fan of two girls sharing a session. It saves them a bit of moolah on the hotel room, and it tends to be a bit more comforting to have a friend nearby when you're posing in your unmentionables in front of strangers!

I met Alisha at this adorable baby shower for a mutual friend, so I was thrilled when she contacted me to do a quick family shoot for their Christmas card! She and her husband Damion have an amazing home in Long Beach, not to mention their beautiful baby Avie Lynn! She is an 8-month old charmer, what a happy baby!
